Writing credits Theatre. In 2014 Janys adapted The Secret Garden for a hundred children to perform at Clwyd Theatr Cymru.

She also wrote The Waiting Room, a site-specific play about Denbigh Hospital, commissioned by NHS
Wales/Flintshire Arts.

Also in autumn 2014, Janys’s musical play The Harmonettes Go Into Orbit (5* Edinburgh Festival) completed its sixth regional tour.

Other recent theatre work includes Handbag The Musical, featuring a 60-strong women’s choir and premiered by Theatre In The Quarter in 2013.

She also adapted My Family And Other Animals (which she first wrote as a Classic Serial for BBC Radio 4) for York Theatre Royal (4* in The Times, 4* in The Stage, 4* in The Mail).

She is currently working on Dorothy’s War, a new play for The Harmonettes, and The D Word, a play and film for NHS Wales/Denbighshire Arts.

She also has a new commission The Warren currently in development with National Theatre Wales. Television writing includes scripts for Children’s Ward; Engie Benjy; Emmerdale; Holby and the BBC’s Belonging (Best Series at the Celtic Film Festival).

Janys has received a British Soap Awards Nomination for Best Episode in a Soap, (Emmerdale) and a BAFTA nomination as Best New Writer for Television.
